Study tours
Since 1998 Children in Africa has arranged 12 study tours to Uganda with more than 150 participants. The program has always included visits to the projects supported by us, our partners or by Dan Church Aid. There has always been some recreational activities such as safari trips or visits to famous tourist sights. Often we have continued to Nairobi in Kenya to visit the Danish author Karen Blixen’s farm among other things.

We have always reached far “into the field” and visited families in their small huts, children in the poor village schools, patients at hospitals and clinics. You really get Africa “under your skin” in quite a different way than a usual tourist trip can offer you.

We believe that the study tour gives you a better impression of the way the raised money is spent and managed in Africa and the challenges we meet when working in a society with climate, traditions and culture very different from the Danish. Finally, Uganda is an incredibly beautiful and friendly country to visit. The scenery is amazing and people are always smiling and hospitable.
